Routine site visit
Generally we visit our clients' sites at least once per month on a Routine Site Visit (RSV) to carry out physical checks on servers, carry out software updates and patches as well as performing other standard maintenance on the network.
A standard RSV will last between two and four hours, depending on how many servers you have and how complex your network is. During the RSV, the following will generally be carried out:
- Test restore from backup tape
- Check latest antivirus definitions installed
- Check latest server software updates and patches installed
- Check free disk space and mailbox limitations
- Check system, application, security, mail and RAID array logs
- Perform UPS testing and check logs for outages
Whilst many of our competitors rely heavily on remote support, we feel that regular physical site visits are an essential part of our proactive approach to network support.
